What is the difference between regular CDs and Karaoke CDs?
Regular CDs are recording of the original artist. These recording may have been made in a recording studio or from live concerts. Karaoke CDs are reproduced creations recorded by each manufacturer. The manufacturer will hire independent artists and bands to recreate songs done in the likeness of the original artist. They are not the original artist’s recordings. Manufacturer’s interpretation of like songs will sound different throughout different manufacturers. Also, karaoke CDs have the capability of removing the lead singer’s voice.
How do i decide what i should be buying?
CDGs have no lead vocals, are more expensive and usually associated with the serious or veteran enthusiast. CDGMs have the lead vocals intact, are less expensive and usually associated with the beginners.
What are starter packs?
Manufacturers assemble their own multiple disc packs to save you money. If you only intended to sing country or gospel, you would seek out packs specifically for those categories.
What is CDG?
Also known as CD+G. CDGs do not have lead vocals. They only have background vocals and instrumentals. CDGs are equal to size as a normal 5″ CD (standard CD size) with TV graphics. Words to the songs appear on a TV screen when the disc is played on a CD+G player and hooked up to a TV. Also compatible with standard audio players. CDGs (Compact Disc Plus Graphics) are used for karaoke media. They usually have about 15 songs per each disc and come with the lead singer’s voice removed. Instrumentals and backup singers are left intact. The premise is to substitute your voice as the lead singer’s voice.
What is CDGM (Multiplex)?
Also known as Compact Disc Plus Graphics Multiplex. CDGMs have lead vocals that can be removed. They usually have 8 songs per each disc and come with the lead singer’s voice. The lead singer’s voice can be removed with a player that has a balance control or a multiplex control.
What is DVD?
(Digital Versatile Disc) 5″ format with higher date compression with audio and video digitally reproduced. When played on a DVD Player. You will see lyrics scrolling across the TV screen plus motion picture in the background in digital DVD format. A DVD disc can fit more than 40 songs.
What is VCD?
VCDs are equal to size as a normal 5″ CD (standard CD size) with TV graphics. Words to the songs appear on a TV screen over a scene that you normally see on TV when the disc is played on a VCD player (or on most DVD players) and hooked up to a TV. They usually have about 11 songs per each disc. The singer’s voice can be turn ON or OFF on a VCD/DVD player with the multiple audio function.

What is Pre-amplifier?
A device that takes a source signal, such as from a tunable, tape-deck or CD player, and passes this signal on to a power-amplifiers). The pre-amp may have a number of controls such as source selector switches, balance, volume and possibly tone-control.
What is Frequency?
